Oil Painting
Landscape Painting of a Field in Alaska
This painting was created as an introduction to working with oil paints, with a focus on capturing a landscape scene. The reference for the piece came from a photograph taken in Alaska, adding a personal connection to the subject matter.
The painting process began on a wooden canvas that had been pre-coated. This initial surface presented a challenge, as the oil paint did not absorb easily and tended to slide off when applied. Despite this, the experience offered valuable lessons in working with the medium. It helped develop an eye for identifying subtle variations in color within the landscape and translating those nuances effectively onto the canvas.
