This project centered on redesigning the menu for Storm Castle Café with the aim of creating a layout that was more organized, visually engaging, and easy to read. All content from the original menu was retained but restructured to improve readability and better convey the café’s unique character.

The process emphasized the principles of typographic hierarchy, layout design, and creative page composition. Designers selected custom font pairings and then developed their individual layouts. Initially, placing drinks and appetizers at the top of the menu seemed logical, as these items are often ordered first. However, after further exploration, positioning them along the side resulted in a more balanced and intuitive design.

One of the main challenges involved managing a dense amount of text. Fitting all the content onto a single page could easily become overwhelming. A key takeaway from the project was that effective design sometimes requires stepping away from default conventions, such as the standard 12pt font, and embracing more flexible, creative solutions to maintain both clarity and style.
